This is beautiful. Sometimes when my day turns terrible I drop what I'm doing and he's to the woods or the river. I cone home and run a bath or make some food. I tell my kids I love them. If there are too many red-lights I go home. I sleep when I am too tired. It's better that way.

Brava! Lovely, engaging piece on the Truth of Happiness. I'm grateful I too have learned the practice of cultivating and tending to my center...to happy. My Beloved speaks of HAPPY, not happiest or happier, but the center...happy.

"But peace doesn’t live at the finish line. It lives in how you move through the middle of your day. How you treat yourself when nothing is urgent. How you speak to yourself when no one’s watching."

This is a beautiful positive message. Simply lovely!

Do you know I too walk down that same part, but letter found something that only thinking about it makes me happy, since the day I figured it out I found happiness and to be honest it's something small, I just started seeing the small things that makes me unique, something I alone have, so I name myself: unique in my own way and even if I was upset that single line makes my day. And your words makes me remember both my old and new self. It's really refreshing thanks 👍👍

Wow, that’s really beautiful. It’s crazy how just shifting our perspective and noticing the little things can change everything. I love that you’ve found something so simple yet powerful to hold onto “unique in my own way” is such a strong reminder of self-worth. And honestly, I’m really glad my words could bring back those memories for you. That means a lot. Keep holding onto that feeling, and never stop embracing what makes you you!

A thought on this:

"Happiness, blessedness, is that which renders us immune to the changing scenes of time and the vicissitudes and the circumstances and accidents of life."

-Martyn Lloyd-Jones

In other words, it is easy to be happy when you are surrounded by friends, have a great job, etc. The thing is, what happens if your circumstances changes?

That is the test for true happiness, the kind that can still be positive in times of sickness, or when life has pushed you over the cliff. The pursuit should be for that kind of happiness.

"We all do it, the “when I have X, then I’ll be happy” loop. We walk around thinking happiness is waiting on the other side of some milestone. But peace doesn’t live at the finish line. It lives in how you move through the middle of your day. How you treat yourself when nothing is urgent. How you speak to yourself when no one’s watching."

God, that gave me chills. I remember being 12 years old, a year before moving to a different town, believing I'd find happiness once I learned how to play the guitar. And I did learn to play the guitar. I can still play a couple songs here and there now, but did it give me absolute, ultimate, undying happiness? The happiness that I was expecting at that time? No. And this post exemplifies that fact. The way we speak about ourselves and how we treat ourselves in our day-to-day life is what makes up what happiness is. It is not based around external factors, rather, it is felt internally.

So, I happily liked this post and commented!
